Pencils of Promise
Pencils of Promise is an American non-governmental organization that helps to bring education to children who might not have access to it on their own, by building schools in hign-need communities. Founded in October of 2008, Pencils of Promise is active in countries in Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.
EDUCA-Ecuador is a project launched by an American charitable organization called CARE. It works with various governmental and non-govermental bodies in Ecuador to make sure that all of Ecuador's people receive a primary education, regardless of gender or financial standing.
The Khan Academy is a free, educational website founded by Salman Khan in 2009. In terms of basic education, this website is very effective with providing children with basic arithmetic lessons in the form of videos.
The Millennium Development Goals Report report, prepared by the United Nations, is a report on the progress of the eight Millennium Development Goals. The information related to Achieving Universal Primary Education can be found on pages 18 to 21. The report's contents include useful information about the state of education in developing and developed nations, as well as charts and statistics that relate to each of the eight goals.
